The exhibition “Unfinished” opens its doors on April 4th, as part of the cultural programme that commemorates 150 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Spain and Japan.
The exhibition “Unfinished”, curated by Spanish architects Iñaqui Carnicero and Carlos Quintáns at the Spanish Pavillion, was awarded the Golden Lion at the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale. The economic crisis, triggered mostly by the real estate bubble, many buildings and projects in Spain remained unfinished. The exhibition reflects on new ways architecture can adapt itself to evolving economic, social, and environmental needs.
This version of the exhibition has been adapted for the Embassy of Spain in Tokyo by co-curator Carlos Quintáns.
