A group of architecture students from New York exposes a series of housing projects for one of the neighborhoods of San Juan affected by Hurricane Irma. For these architecture students, it has been the perfect place to develop their ideas. “design housing to solve bigger problems.” After four days in San Juan, these Cooper Union third year students have designed several sustainable housing projects thinking on a better future for their inhabitants. “This is the area of study that we have focused on, then we have divided it into seven parts” is the ocean park sector in San Juan, with frequent flooding problems and that mixes low-income and also luxury housing. “To think about how our buildings can not only have less impact on the environment but to deal with the conditions we have now and that we will have in ten, twenty and fifty years”
