Design workshop for Sustainable Social Housing
With the organization of the Ministry of the Interior, Public Works and Housing, the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, the Inter-American Development Bank and the Global Environment Facility; The Design Workshop for Sustainable Social Housing was held within the framework of the GEF Project for Argentina. The meeting generated a space for exchange where the Provincial Housing Institutes worked collaboratively in the design of housing prototypes together with international and national experts in housing and energy efficiency, together with the technical teams of the Ministries.
The objectives of the workshop were to provide a collaborative work space for the design of sustainable social housing, learning from successful experiences that can nurture the development of the GEF Project in Argentina and incorporating innovative tools and practices in bioclimatic design, energy efficiency and renewable energy . In this sense and after the introduction to the workshop given by the specialist of Urban Development and Housing of the IDB, Francisca Rojas, began the dissertations of specialists in the subject as Iñaqui Carnicero, Roberto Busnelli, Emiliano Detta and Ariel Sueiro.
Among the topics to be discussed on the first day of the meeting, energy efficiency and renewable energy in social housing (experience of EcoCasa in Mexico), the design of social housing and the use of new technologies, work on the envelope and the tools for the energy analysis of homes. Next, the technicians of the Provincial Housing Institutes carried out the presentation of their projects, with the return of the present specialists, to then move forward in a joint working session on the design of the houses.
